Module overview
This module gives course participants an overview of the global megatrends and their potential impacts on ecological and human health. The module covers four topics:
Topic 1: Global Megatrends and Chemical Pollution
Topic 2: Forecasting Changes in Chemical Use, Emissions and Exposure
Topic 3: Impacts of Climate Change on the Ecological Risks of Chemicals
Topic 4: Global Megatrends, Chemicals and Human Health
Each topic includes a short overview of the science, a mini lecture delivered by an expert in the field and links to key reading materials. A Meet the Presenters page provides a bit of background on the course contributors and their personal concerns around chemicals in the environment. A Thought starters page poses a series of questions related to the course material to help students reflect on and think about the course content.
